At Chelsea Pride, our commitment extends to supporting men's, women's, and youth football at Chelsea FC. We believe in fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment across all levels of the sport. Here's how we support each sector:
Men's Football: We actively engage with the men's team, promoting LGBTQ+ visibility and inclusivity within the sport. By attending matches, organizing events, and collaborating with the club, we strive to create a safe and accepting atmosphere for all fans, players, and staff.
Women's Football: Chelsea Pride is dedicated to championing women's football, recognizing the importance of gender equality in sports. We support the women's team through attendance at matches, advocacy, and raising awareness about the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ women in football. Our efforts aim to ensure that women's football receives the recognition and respect it deserves.
Youth Football: We believe in nurturing the next generation of footballers by supporting youth teams at Chelsea FC. Our initiatives include educational programs, workshops, and outreach efforts that promote inclusivity and diversity from a young age. By fostering an environment of acceptance and understanding, we help young players develop both on and off the field.
Our overarching goal at Chelsea Pride is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, feels welcome and valued within the Chelsea FC community. We are committed to promoting equality, combating discrimination, and celebrating the diversity that makes our club so special.
Building on the success of last year’s event in Manchester, Football v Homophobia is organising Football Pride which will be hosted by the Chelsea Foundation at Stamford Bridge, on the day before the annual Pride in London parade.
An all-day programme of LGBTQ football culture, activities and conversations will be on offer, along with networking and social opportunities. Lunch is provided too.
Chelsea FC and the Chelsea Foundation and once again joined us to take part in London’s annual Pride march and celebrations.
The winner was our own chair Tracy Brown, whose achievements as an anti-discrimination campaigner have been genuinely game-changing – and her fight continues for a friendlier fan experience free of abuse and hate.
our chair Tracy is in receipt of the Chief Crown Prosecutor's Commendation for her work on hate crime. This represents a significant professional accolade and recognition of her exemplary contributions to the field of criminal justice. This commendation underscores her dedication to addressing and combating hate crimes towards the LGBTQ+ community in football and beyond.
